Habitat for Humanity has a long-standing tradition that Habitat volunteers will be provided a meal while working on the job site. Responsibilities:
* Buy the food or collect donations to
buy it (There is an average of 15 people each * Make the meal * Bring it to the site (You will probably want to arrive around 11:30) * Set up, serve, and clean up Guidelines:
A typical meal might include:
* Ready made sandwiches, casseroles,
pastas or finger foods (i.e. subs, sloppy joes, pizza, * Soup (winter) * Chips (individually wrapped) * Fresh fruit (apples, bananas, pears, etc.) * Dessert (cookies, brownies, etc.) * Sodas and juices (individual containers) Bring to the site: * Table(s) on which to serve the food
* Paper products (plates, napkins,
plastic ware, cups). The plates should be sturdy since the * Large plastic garbage bags. * All trash (soda cans should be recycled) must be removed from the site when you leave.
You should arrive at the site at 11:30 a.m. to allow time to get set up for a Noon Lunch * Drive up to site, ask for volunteers to help unload your car
* Find the Devotions Coordinator or
designated person responsible to say grace or a meal time
* Keep in mind that the workers will
have to eat from their laps. There are no tables, chairs, A teacher or parent should be involved as a supervisor if the group is under 18: Providing lunch is an important contribution toward building a Habitat home.
