Procter & Gamble's Home Care Division employees volunteer to clean the Cincinnati Habitat houses before the new homeowners take occupancy. They also leave behind a nice house-warming present. Thanks, P&G!

Grand Opening! |
For 24 years, Cincinnati Habitat for Humanity has provided affordable homeownership opportunities for deserving local families. It has long been a dream of the affiliate to take steps to increase its building capacity to help even more Cincinnatians. That dream will begin to come to fruition as Cincinnati Habitat opens its first ReStore on Saturday, March 20.
ReStores provide an environmentally responsible way to divert good, reusable materials from landfills while simultaneously providing a sustainable revenue stream to help fund Habitat's work. Materials sold are donated by local retailers, contractors and individuals in the community and then sold to the general public at a fraction of the retail price. Donors to the ReStore may be eligible to receive a tax deduction for their contribution.
Cincinnati Habitat's ReStore will be located at 4910 Para Drive (45237) in Bond Hill. Hours of operation are Tuesday-Saturday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
We hope to see you at the ReStore!

Western & Southern Financial Group's Eagle Realty Group, LLC has stepped up to help make Cincinnati Habitat's ReStore Grand Opening a huge success!
As you may have noticed, the Phelps building (located on E. 4th Street in downtown Cincinnati) has been closed and is currently being gutted to make way for a new luxury hotel being developed. Eagle Realty invited Cincinnati Habitat to help deconstruct the building and donated hundreds of appliances including dishwashers, refrigerators, stoves, washers and dryers as well as kitchen cabinets, lighting and plumbing fixtures to be sold in our ReStore. This sizable donation has dramatically boosted the ReStore's inventory for resale and comes just in time for our Grand Opening to the public on March 20th.
A big THANK YOU to Eagle Realty Group and all the volunteers who helped us remove these items from the Phelps building to be sold in our new ReStore!

Going Home
|

Regina (Daugherty) Pitts, homeowner at 895 Lexington, died on January 29 from a heart attack. She had long-term health struggles resulting from a failed kidney transplant 10 years ago and complications from diabetes. Regina leaves behind her husband, Claude, and three children.
Regina purchased her home from Cincinnati Habitat in September, 1999.
Regina & Claude felt blessed by the opportunity afforded them by purchasing their Habitat home and made payment of their mortgage a priority. In fact, when Claude was released from the hospital after surgery when he donated his kidney to Regina, he came to the Habitat office the very same day to pay their mortgage. It was apparent that it was the most important thing he needed to do that day.
The Board and staff extend their sympathies to Regina's family -- but we know that she has now moved into an even bigger and better home than the one she built down here.

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES
ReStore Volunteers Needed!
With the grand opening of the ReStore upon us, Cincinnati Habitat is in need of people who would like to volunteer on a regular basis at the ReStore. We are particularly in need of people with retail sales experience and cash register experience. We also could use people to help with merchandising and stocking.
Volunteers will be asked to work 4 hour shifts on days they are available. Hours of operation are Tuesday-Saturday 9 am-5 pm.
Working at the ReStore is a great opportunity for individuals who want to help with the mission of Cincinnati Habitat for Humanity but may be uncomfortable working on a job site or in the office.
If you are interested in volunteering with the ReStore, please contact our Volunteer Coordinator (pdempster@cincinnati-habitat.org).
