Cincinnati Habitat for Humanity Mission
Cincinnati Habitat for Humanity is a non-profit Christian housing ministry that seeks to eliminate substandard housing by building and renovating simple, decent, affordable homes to sell to low-income families in need. Cincinnati Habitat works in equal partnership with families, volunteers and donors building a sense of community as well as affordable housing.
ReStore History
In September 1992, the first Habitat for Humanity ReStore in the U.S. opened its doors in Austin, Texas. At that time, the Habitat ReStores were known to sell building materials only. Today, with over 600 stores strong in 3 countries and growing, the Habitat ReStores sell everything from household items to furniture to building materials.
Cincinnati Habitat for Humanity ReStore
Cincinnati Habitat’s ReStore opened in Spring of 2010 and is currently taking donations of new and used building products as well as gently used household items. See our Donations List for acceptable items.
ReStore Mission
The Cincinnati Habitat ReStore is a building materials recycling center that provides a sustainable source of income to Cincinnati Habitat for Humanity. The ReStore accepts material donations from a variety of sources and uses new materials whenever possible in the construction of Habitat homes. The balance is sold to the public at greatly reduced prices.
Cincinnati Habitat's ReStore is an extension of our housing ministry. Your donation will benefit our entire community by offering low cost building materials and items to our customers and it will keep recyclable materials out of our area landfills. It will also help eliminate sub-standard housing in our neighborhoods through our home building efforts.
