Donating materials to the Cincinnati Habitat for Humanity ReStore

The Cincinnati Habitat for Humanity ReStore accepts new and used building-related materials from contractors, suppliers, individuals, remodelers, and property managers. Some materials are used directly in the construction of Habitat homes, but most are offered to the general public to purchase at reduced prices.  Your donation helps to improve our community by:

• helping Cincinnati Habitat for Humanity eliminate substandard housing
• providing exceptional values to our customers who will shop at the ReStore
• diverting tons of materials from area landfills by having them recycled
• providing you with a tax deduction should you qualify under US tax guidelines

Step 1: When you have good, reusable or new materials . . .

• Refer to our Donations List for details on items we need. 
• We prefer that donors include delivery of the materials to the store as part of their donation, so please indicate if you are able to deliver your donation to the Cincinnati Habitat for Humanity ReStore when you call.  Please note that only large items will be considered for pickup.

Step 2: Call us at (513) 721-GIVE (4483).

• When you call, you will be asked for a description of the materials to determine if we are able to use your donation. 
• You will also be asked for your contact information.
• When you drop off your donation, you will be given a donations receipt form.

Step 3: If the Cincinnati Habitat for Humanity ReStore is picking up donated items, we will schedule a pick up time and call the day before to confirm the pick-up. A donation of $10 to offset delivery expenses would be appreciated, but is not required.  For the safest, most efficient pick-ups, please follow these guidelines:

• Have all materials available on ground level (i.e. garage or driveway; if needed, ask a relative or neighbor to help you put it there)
• Please mark all items "Cincinnati Habitat for Humanity ReStore"
• Absolutely no hazardous materials
• We are unable to haul away any trash
• You will be given a donations receipt form (or, if you are not home, one will be left for you)

As we are only able to accept reusable materials, our staff may have to decline some materials at the time of pickup. Please don't be angry or insulted by our screening process. Our goal is to parlay the proceeds of our sales into the construction of Habitat homes. If we take items we cannot sell, we end up simply being a storage facility or a repository for the dump, which will take funds away from our home building ministry.
